メーガン・ファライモ選手 最高殊勲選手賞を初受賞！
トヨタレッドテリアーズ在籍3年目となるメーガン・ファライモ選手。12月1日には女子ソフトボール JDリーグの2025シーズンの年間表彰【JD.LEAGUE AWARD2025】が開催され、最高殊勲選手賞を初めて手にしました。
そんなトヨタレッドテリアーズはリーグ3連覇を成し遂げ、今シーズンもさすがの強さを発揮。さらに個人表彰には石川恭子選手、山田柚葵選手、島仲湊愛選手、成瀨結衣選手も選ばれ、チームとしては5名が受賞。華やかな衣裳と共に一年を締めくくる素敵な式典となりました。

Q：さっそく、賞を受賞した感想はいかがですか？
（How do you feel after receiving this award?）
ｰまずは支えてくださった方に感謝します。日本というレベルの高いリーグでプレーをして、この賞がもらえたことを嬉しく思います。
（I feel so honored and very grateful for the support that I have. I think this league and Japanese professional softball is so top tier that it’s pretty, it’s just a pretty cool moment.）

Q：今シーズンはどういった思いで迎えましたか？そして振り返ってみてどうでしたか
（What were your thoughts going into this season, and how do you feel looking back on it now?）
ｰ最初は自分がどう戦えるか、
（At the beginning of this season, I was really just looking forward to going through my process. It was earlier in the year and I really just wanted to figure out what I like to do, how I like to compete and then by the end, I had figured that out and so it feels pretty good to have that.）

Q：そんな中で、今シーズン1番思い出に残っている試合とプレーを教えてください。
（Which game is the most memorable game and then in that game which play you remember?）
ｰシーズンを通してたくさん試合をしたので、記憶が混ざっていますね。しかし島仲選手と山田選手のホームランや石川選手の守備のプレー、それがすごく私の頭の中に残っています。試合で言うと準決勝の豊田自動織機シャイニングベガ戦です。その試合はソフトボールって素晴らしいなと感じた瞬間でした。
（They all kind of blend together because we played so much. I know that there are moments for my, like with my teammates that are the most memorable. Like Soa hitting a home run. Yuzu, Kyoko making all those plays, those individual moments in my brain stick. I think maybe the semi-final game against Shokki is a whole game that I thought was just really great softball.)

ｰ準決勝を選んだ理由は、もう一つあります。キャッチャーの切石選手とシーズンを通して
（I think it was the semi-final game because the whole season, Kiri and I had been working on like following intuition, keeping it simple and it felt like all of our hard work not just physically but mentally really paid off in that game. We were so comfortable, we were so dialed in and on the same page. That’s why it was my favorite game.）
トヨタでのキャリアについて
Q：ファライモ選手はトヨタに所属して3年目になりますが、チームはいかがですか？
（You’ve been here like almost 3 years as a player in Toyota. How do you feel?）
ｰ私は本当に幸運です。すごくいい環境、
（Yeah, I feel so lucky. I think it’s really difficult for a team to have great culture in 1 year or to be surrounded by great people in just 1 year, but to do that 3 years in a row, I just feel so lucky, so honored and blessed to be on the team that I am.）

パワフルな投球をするために
Q：ファライモ選手は力強い投球が魅力ですが、自身の投球は年々どう変化していると思いますか？
（You always throw powerful pitches, like throughout three years, how like each year make you like different, like how do you feel about it?）
ｰ私は毎年、それぞれ違った形で挑戦をしています。今年はアメリカ、メキシコ、日本のリーグで1年を通してずっとプレーしてきました。私の意志でどこまで突き進むことができるのかと思っていましたが、逆に途中で燃え尽きてしまうのではないかと心配もしていました。ですが最後までしっかりと戦い抜けたので良かったです。
（I think that each year has challenged me in very different ways. I would say this year, particularly because I played in a lot of different leagues, it’s kind of just like how far is my will gonna take me, like how much can I actually battle and keep coming back to compete for these teams. So I think that way this year, I was challenged and I’m pretty happy that like my heart was still there by the end, like I wasn’t burned out or anything. So I think that was this year’s challenge.）
気持ちを保ち続けるためには
Q：一年間を通して、そのメンタルを保てたのはなぜですか？
ｰあらゆる困難に喜びを見出せたからだと思います。ソフトボールが好きで、プレーできていることが幸せに感じるので困難があっても燃え尽きることがありませんでした。頼れる人が周りにいて、
（I think it’s because I found joy in all of the challenges. It’s hard to burn out when you like things and you’re happy, like you’re grateful to have those obstacles.
So for me being able to like rely on people and find joy in the sport still, I think that kept my mentality on, whereas before, I might not have been in that head space and then it would just like, I’d definitely burned out.）

応援してくれるファンへ
Q：最後に、来シーズンに向けてファンの皆さんに何を伝えたいですか？
ｰファンの皆さんにはもっとたくさん友達を会場に連れてきてほしいです。リーグとしてファンを楽しませる環境は揃っていますし、もっとたくさん人が見に来れるはずです。ソフトボールというスポーツを好きになる人が増えることで、ファンや選手にとってもいい結果になることを信じています。
（I want to tell all the fans, everyone that came out this year, grab a friend and bring them along. I think we’ve done, we’ve has done such a great job of creating a good experience for fans. But I still think that we can get some more people there at the games. I think the more people that are there, the more people fall in love with the sport and the better it is for all of us.）
